The Qombi Case

You’ve heard the expression ‘living out of a suitcase’. Well, Bedford-based designer Parmata is set to make this a literal possibility with their self-proclaimed ‘suitcase for the 21st century’.

The Qombi Case can be converted into a tent, a lounger or a sunshade to ‘offer protection from the harmful effects of over-exposure to the sun’. But don’t rush to the shops yet because Parmata is still in search of investors and manufacturers to help bring the product to market.

The company says the case can be used in a variety of situations, from outdoor concerts to waiting for a delayed flight at the aiport. It’s also suitable for the beach, with a lockable compartment for your valuables while you go for a swim (though it’s not clear what’s to stop someone walking off with the whole thing).

As if all this wasn’t enough, the case even floats on water while its contents stay dry.

It has 80 litres of luggage space and, claims the company’s website, ‘every member of the family will need one’.

Interested parties are encouraged to get in touch via the company’s website.
