Tevva has developed an electric range extended 7.5 ton truck for commercial use. Fleet operators are facing stringent regulations to limit vehicle emissions.
Tevva’s strategy has been to lower the barriers to adoption, incorporate learnings from the failures of others, to deliver a truly disruptive solution that offers fleets costs savings and lower emissions.
Pure electric vehicles have limited range. As a result, fleet managers put them only on the shortest routes, limiting the cost reductions from cheaper electric power and limiting the emissions reduction.
By fitting a range extender (an onboard engine & generator), Tevva removes operatlonal risk and allows maximum savings and reduction in emissions. A relationship with JAC Motors in China has enabled Tevva to develop a production specification vehicle for volume production.
The vehicle has a lower total cost of ownership (incorporating purchase price, lifetime fuel & servicing costs) than a comparable diesel truck, while producing ultra low emissions.
Recent Technology
Predictive Range Extender Management Software (PREMS) system has been developed to optimize cost savings, emission benefits and battery health.
We take fleet planned delivery routes and determine the optimum use of the range extender during the duty cycle.
The software considers a multitude of factors from the environment, urban topography, current pollution data
