Cheshire-based dental products supplier the Dental Buying Group (DBG) has been acquired by private equity firm Synova Capital.

Philip Shapiro, managing partner at Synova, says: ‘We are delighted to be partnering with a proven, successful and ambitious management team in a market that contains many exciting growth prospects.’

Corporate finance firm Clearwater advised Synova Capital on its acquisition and sourced senior debt facilities from the Co-operative Bank to support the transaction.

DBG, which employs more than 70 people, operates a membership model and provides a portfolio of products and services to more than 4,500 dental practices across the UK. Members pay an annual fee to gain access to the company’s product suite, which includes dental engineering and radiography services, health and safety provision and training and compliance services.

Mike Reeves, partner at Clearwater, says that ‘with a track record of strong organic growth, DBG provides an attractive investment opportunity for Synova’.
