StrikeAd finalises £2 million round

London-based mobile advertising business StrikeAd has secured £2 million from venture capital firm DFJ Esprit.

The investment represents a successful period for StrikeAd which last year opened offices in New York and allows the company to continue international expansion.

StrikeAd helps advertisement agencies to plan and execute mobile phone marketing campaigns.

Alex Rahaman, CEO of StrikeAd says: ‘As well as supporting our expansion into the US market, the backing from DFJ Esprit will allow us to further our global expansion and continue to develop new areas of technology; such as cross-device targeting.’

The investment follows a first-round investment in excess of £1 million from German VC firm eValue last February.

Nic Brisbourne, a partner at DFJ Espirit says: ‘We look forward to working alongside StrikeAd in its global expansion and continuous development of cutting-edge technology.’

StrikeAd recently announced plans to move into the Japanese market in partnership with Tokyo-based ad firm Mediba.

Brisbourne is excited by the StrikeAd deal and the potential for mobile advertising. He adds: ‘The company is poised to benefit from rapid growth in the market for mobile advertising and the trend towards programmatic buying; the untapped potential in mobile is enormous.’
