SQS, a private software testing business, has increased its presence in the Nordic countries with the acquisition of Validate Technology Svenska for undisclosed terms.

The deal will be completed through the acquisition of 2020 Governance AB, which holds 91.2 per cent of Validate issued shares. The transaction aims to boost SQS’ presence in the region where software testing is regarded as an essential investment in any software development programme.

Grant Thornton acted as lead adviser to SQS, providing financial and tax due diligence. The team was led by manager Martin Schulz-Danso. “We are the client’s statutory auditor and they rely on us for our national and international capabilities, and our knowledge of his business and acquisition ‘philosophy’.

“SQS is a rapidly growing owner-managed medium-sized listed client, which is in the process of creating a strong international network.”
