Spark Ventures has exited digital advertising company Unanimis for up to £4.7 million. The exit came after Unanimis was acquired by Orange France Telecom Group for an undisclosed sum.

Jay Patel, executive director at Spark who led the investment, says: ‘This is a good result in what is a difficult market for the advertising sector and is testament to the quality and strategic positioning of Unanimis that it has attracted a high quality blue-chip acquirer.’

Khalil Ibrahimi, co-founder of Unanimis, says:  ‘Since Spark first invested two years ago, they have provided strong strategic guidance and support which has been instrumental… in helping us to find a partner for the business.’

Spark will retain a stake in independent advertising server Open X, which was spun out from Unanimis in 2007.
