Homecare provider Complete Personal Assistance (CPA) has expanded its business following its acquisition of Paediatric Nursing Link (PNL) for £2.2 million. The acquired company provides nursing care to sick children and their families in hospitals as well as in homes and schools.

The deal was backed by Sovereign Capital, which bought CPA in 2003 for £5.7 million, and is part of Sovereign’s strategy of supporting its investments by funding buy-and-build transactions.

Following the acquisition, CPA will broaden its services by adding spinal injury recovery and ventilation support capabilities to its offering. It will also gain access to new clients in London.

Based in Telford, CPA was co-founded in 1995 by managing director Barbara Scandrett and provides care to children and adults with injuries or congenital disabilities.

PNL has been supplying medical staff, including qualified nurses and healthcare assistants since 1999. The company supplies child homecare services to 11 of the 33 primary care trusts in London and has access to some 700 nurses.
