SnackTime buys Snack in The Box

SnackTime, a Berkshire-based operator of food and drink vending machines, has acquired MBM Business Systems, the owner of rival Snack in The Box (SITB) for £1.5 million in cash.

SnackTime, a Berkshire-based operator of food and drink vending machines, has acquired MBM Business Systems, the owner of rival Snack in The Box (SITB) for £1.5 million in cash.  

SITB operates through franchisees and has some 15,000 vending sites. The Hampshire-based company reported revenue of £3.4 million and pre-tax profits of £301,000 for the year ending March. Following the deal, SnackTime will have a network of over 20,000 customer sites across the UK and Ireland.  

Blair Jenkins, chief executive of SnackTime, said: ‘SnackTime is now a leading player in the snack and chilled drink vending sector in the UK and Eire and has the delivery platform to reach an even wider base of customers.’

SnackTime reported turnover of £6.7 million, and an increase in pre-tax profits of 64 per cent to £0.2 million for the year ending March.
