The investment from Good Energies, Index Ventures, SET Venture Partners and VantagePoint Venture Partners will enable the company to extend its product development programme and expand its team.

Saul Klein, a partner at Index Ventures, says, ‘As energy demand increases worldwide, we see an urgent need for a disruptive and game-changing technology which is capable of leading a revolution in home energy consumption.’

Cambridge-based AlertMe.com, which was founded in 2006, has developed a product which monitors and controls energy-using appliances either from home or remotely via the internet, helping reduce energy costs.
