SLR Management has acquired the US company Hoefler Consulting Group for £5 million.
Environmental consultancy SLR Management has acquired the US company Hoefler Consulting Group (HCG) for £5 million.
Alaska-based HCG has 55 employees across its offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Portland and Seattle. The company provides pollution prevention services to clients in the energy, mining and offshore drilling sectors.
Established in 1995 by Brian Hoefler, the employee owned company currently has a turnover of $10 million (£6.6 million).
SLR Management is a UK-based environmental consulting firm with 60 offices across the UK and Ireland, North America and Australasia. The company has around 900 employees.
David Richards, chief executive of SLR, comments: ‘In line with our strategy and current client demands, we are especially pleased to further strengthen our experience in permitting and contingency planning for offshore drilling, a particularly strong growth area given recent events in the Gulf of Mexico.’
SLR has over 250 employee share and option holders, and also has the backing of private equity firm 3i as a minority shareholder.
