Government investment body NESTA participated in the funding round, as did early-stage investor The Accelerator Group and a number of business angels, many of whom had joined Skimlinks’ seed fundraising earlier this year.
Skimlinks, which helps publishers such as Hachette Filipacchi, Mirror.co.uk and Future Publishing make money from their content, will use the proceeds of the fundraising to expand its US operations and continue product development.
CEO Alicia Navarro says the company has grown quickly since it was established 12 months ago and processed £6 million of its clients’ sales through its platform in November.
