Sixteen-year-old becomes Crowdcube’s youngest ever fundraiser

Ben Towers is hoping to raise £100,000 for his social media dashboard Social Marley.

Ben Towers has this week become the youngest pitcher ever to launch a campaign on Crowdcube after launching a campaign with a £100,000 target for his business Social Marley.

Towers is the CEO of the social media dashboard. It offers small business owners the opportunity to integrate and run all of their social media accounts from one place.

It also offers analytics on various social media platforms and is designed to help small businesses increase their visibility and offering across all accounts.

Towers is already a respected entrepreneur and regular speaker at business and entrepreneurship events despite only being 16. He launched digital media agency Towers Design four years ago and currently employs 15 people.

He said of his latest venture that he is “determined” to reach the target on Crowdcube.

“I’m hoping it will be funded by small businesses in the UK – the very ones who need help with their social media and will benefit hugely using this dashboard,” he added.

Crowdcube co-founder Luke Lang hailed Towers for his determination and entrepreneurial spirit at such an early age.

“Ben is the youngest person to pitch for investment on Crowdcube, it’s a real demonstration of how crowdfunding is a truly accessible route for entrepreneurs, at every stage of their career, to raise finance to get their business off the ground, he said.
