Simpson has over 20 years’ experience in managing all aspects of venture capital and private equity, including investment, fund raising and portfolio management.

A chartered accountant, he previously spent 15 years with Murray Johnstone Private Equity as portfolio director and as a member of the executive management team. He has held a number of non-executive director appointments on behalf of institutional investors and client funds and has advised private equity investors and fund investors on due diligence and investment management.

Simpson is a former member of the British Venture Capital Association Hi-tech Committee and the VCT Fund Managers’ Forum.
