Leeds-based law firm Simpson Millar LLP has acquired Maxwell Gillott Solicitors (MG Law) for an undisclosed sum.

Leeds-based law firm Simpson Millar LLP has acquired Maxwell Gillott Solicitors (MG Law) for an undisclosed sum.

Founding partner Elaine Maxwell set up a specialist law firm focusing on education and community care in 1998 and expanded into healthcare under the Maxwell Gillott brand in 2003. The Lancaster-based firm will continue trading under the MG Law brand.



Peter Watson, managing partner of Simpson Millar, said: ‘MG Law and its people are associated with quality advice, and with having an in-depth understanding and experience in key care sectors.’

Simpson Millar has signed a deal to expand MG Law’s existing office and Watson is confident that the turnover, currently at £600,000, will reach £1 million within 24 months.
