California-based Signum Systems is a vendor of hardware and software for embedded systems (dedicated computer system).

According to a statement the acquisition’s technology complements IAR’s products, such debuggers and in-circuit emulators.

Stefan Skarin, chief executive officer of IAR Systems: ‘More powerful processors and increasingly complex embedded systems are driving the need for more advanced tools for testing and debugging.

‘By combining our technologies and know-how, our future product roadmap will be highly attractive to our large customer base and beyond.’

Swedish-based IAR has UK offices in Oxfordshire and Staffordshire.

Skarin adds: ‘The acquisition taps into our commitment to provide customers with reliable and powerful development tools for current and future ARM processors [microprocessors].’
