Its executive directors, chairman John Woolgar and director James Burgess, are experienced City investors.

Running River’s auditor and reporting accountant was a team from Chantrey Vellacott DFK LLP led by its head of corporate Ian Staunton.

Staunton said the firm has worked with the board on several similar projects. “This deal was notable for its extremely short time period from the kick-off meeting to completion.

“It is extremely exciting and edifying to work with a technology company focused on clean, environmentally friendly energy production,” he added.
