UK and Australia-based RollUp media has secured €1.2 million (£940,000) in development capital to help it expand.
Venture capital firm Rollup Media has joined as a backer in the same week that it provided £1.6 million in second round funding to ALLOW.
The fresh capital takes Rollup Media’s total funding to date up to €2 million and follows its launch in the UK and Australia back in May.
Joshua Green, investment director at Arts Alliance, says the firm decided to invest in Rollup media because it has successfully identified the needs of independent publishers and the advertising market.
He adds. ‘The company is poised to benefit from both the rapid growth in the independent publishing market and in the process of content-driven advertising.
Founded in 2011 by a team with previous experience at firms such as Google and Lycos, Rollup Media provides services to publishers in sectors such as health and lifestyle, family and parenting, and fashion to aid with systems such as search engine optimisation.
Ben Regensburger, CEO of RollUp Media, comments, ‘We are thrilled to be working with the Arts Alliance team, not least because of their successful track record in supporting the digital media industry and adding value to their portfolio companies.
‘We’ve come a long way in a short time and securing the funding for further expansion ensures we will maintain our momentum.’
London-based Arts Alliance has previously backed businesses including graze.com, Shazam, Lastminute.com and LOVEFiLM.
