Surveillance company Quadnetics Group has acquired the defence products business Persides Technology for £260,000.

Security and surveillance company Quadnetics Group has acquired the defence products business Persides Technology for £260,000.

Bristol-based Persides produces electronic monitoring systems such as hand-held digital video cameras for battlefield use for defence sector customers including Raytheon Systems. The company currently works with Quadnetics’ defence business, Synectics Defence Systems, and has helped develop Synectics’ latest radio frequency detection system, Chili.

AIM-listed Quadnetics has around 400 staff across North America, Europe and Asia. Founded in 1983, the Warwickshire-based company produces and operates surveillance systems for customers in markets including banking and oil and gas. In the year to May 2009, Quadnetics declared a pre-tax profit of £471,000 on a turnover of £70.7 million.
