Practice Plan makes two bolt-on acquisitions

Practice Plan, a provider of dental membership plans, has acquired two businesses Isoplan and Medenta, to expand the company’s support services and move into dental patient finance.

The two bolt-on acquisitions will significantly grow the business, which is based in Oswestry, Shropshire. Practice Plan managing director Nick Dilworth comments that the acquisition of Isoplan, a plan provider with a presence across the UK, particularly in Scotland, will greatly increase the company’s market share and geographical reach.

The purchase of Medenta, a provider of dental patient finance, he adds, will enable the company to move into a growing market place. He explains that the market for restorative and cosmetic dentistry is predicted to grow substantially during the next five to ten years, and dental patient finance has become increasingly relevant for many practices.

Dilworth comments, ‘I am pleased to announce the successful acquisition of both Isoplan and Medenta which represents another piece of our investment strategy and commitment in supporting the business of dentistry.’

Simon Tucker, director of Medenta, says, ‘We have worked closely together for more than five years and this coming together will give both companies the ability to really help our dental clients grow their businesses.’
