AIM-listed Pinnacle Telecom has made its third acquisition of the year with the purchase of Online Computer Developments (OCD) for a total of £110,000.

The deal follows the buys of IT services business MacLellan IT for £1.06 million and internet protocol company Closed Circuit Television for an undisclosed amount.

The purchase of Glasgow-based OCD, which provides IT desktop and server support to small and medium-sized businesses, has been made through Pinnacle’s subsidiary division Pinnacle Cloud Solutions.

Alan Bonner, chief executive of Pinnacle Telecom, says that Pinnacle’s IT capability has been ‘strengthened greatly’ by the purchase of OCD.

Bonner adds: ‘This latest deal, combined with Explore IT and the acquisition in August of MacLellan IT, gives us a very strong position in the central belt of Scotland from which we intend to grow.

‘The acquisition of OCD will be earnings enhancing and is very much in keeping with our strategy to build Pinnacle through bolt-on, well-priced acquisitions, particularly through the deployment of next generation, cloud-based IP services.’

Managing director of OCD, Kevin Ashcroft, says that he has long been impressed with Pinnacle’s success in both the Scottish and UK market.

Cloud technology business Pinnacle provided the supply network connection for the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton as part of the international news networks coverage.

For the six months to 31 March 2011, Pinnacle recorded a turnover of £3.82 million.
