Software business Oracle has agreed to acquire US-based Endeca Technologies, which provides data management, web commerce and business intelligence.

Software business Oracle has agreed to acquire US-based Endeca Technologies, which provides data management, web commerce and business intelligence.

The privately-held business is being bought for an undisclosed amount.

According to a statement the combination of Oracle and Endeca is expected to create a ‘comprehensive technology platform’ to process, store, manage and analyse structured and unstructured information together.

Thomas Kurian, executive vice president of Oracle Development, comments: ‘This technology will allow us to integrate more comprehensive unstructured data management into Oracle’s engineered systems.

Headquartered in California, Oracle has its UK base in Berkshire.
