Formed in New Zealand in 2000, OpenCloud moved to Cambridge in June 2006. The company supplies application servers to help telecommunications companies improve their service provision.

It will use the funding for sales, marketing, delivery and product development in Europe, the US and Asia Pacific. This will enable the company to launch JAIN SLEE, a programming interface for event-driven application servers.
