• Markit, a provider of independent data, portfolio valuations and over-the-counter derivatives trade processing, has completed the acquisition of SwapsWire in order to increase its offering
• PR firm Paver Smith has bought its rival Factory Communications, increasing its turnover to £2.4 million. The company said it is in talks with three other potential target agencies
• Property management company JSM Property has bought the lettings and management division from its rival Elliots
• Pearson plc, an education and information company, has agreed to acquire 80 per cent of Learning Education Center and 70 per cent of Dell English, both English language school chains in China. Revenue last year for the chains combined was some $10 million (£5.05 million), with gross assets at $6.2 million (£3.1 million)
• Scott Wilson Group plc, an international design and engineering consultancy, is set to acquire Terence Lee Partnership, a mechanical and electrical building services consultancy, for up to £1.3 million
