‘Offensive’ Young returns to favour

Lord Young of Graffham, a former cabinet minister under Margaret Thatcher and an active investor in early-stage technology companies, is set to return to his role as a government adviser.

Young, who controversially stated last year that most people had ‘never had it so good’, was dismissed last November, with Downing Street acknowledging that his comments were ‘offensive’.

Now, however, reports claim that the prime minister has reappointed him to an unpaid role in which he will be tasked with removing red tape for small and medium-sized businesses.
