Northern Bear, the building services group, has acquired Leeds-based roofing contractor Jennings for £5.1 million in a bid to up its presence in the northeast.

The acquisition constitutes the entire share capital of Jennings Properties together with its subsidiary Jennings Roofing, the commercial and residential roofing specialist, and is to be satisfied by £3.23 million cash and the issue of more than one million ordinary shares.

Northern Bear chairman, Jon Pither, commented: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Jennings, which brings with it a high calibre management team, and which we believe further strengthens our spread of northeast-based businesses.”
