North East acquisition deal

Technology Services Group (TSG) has purchased Rocket Solutions, in a deal which increases TSG's SharePoint and Business Intelligence (BI) services.

Newcastle-based Rocket Solutions provides products for business problems. Through its services it works with clients such as Leeds Bradford Airport and Parkdean Holidays. Financial details of the transaction are undisclosed.

Founded in 2003 by Sage co-founder Graham Wylie, North East-based TSG has completed 25 acquisitions, with the deal for Rocket Solutions its second in 2011. In April the IT support company acquired Microsoft Dynamics and Sage CRM business Consentrix.

TSG chief executive, David Stonehouse, says that the acquisition of Rocket Solutions will improve its SharePoint [business software] and BI [analysis software] skills and expertise.

He adds: ‘We have seen considerable growth in the demand for SharePoint and BI from our customer base over the last two years and the wealth of skills which the Rocket team hold makes the business an excellent fit for TSG.’

Commenting on the deal Steve Cox, chief technology officer at TSG, says that TSG is constantly looking for businesses which align with what it is attempting to produce.

Becoming part of TSG will allow Rocket Solutions to continue its growth says Justin Short, managing director at Rocket Solutions.

Through TSG’s business software, proactive support and telecoms services Short says Rocket Solution’s customers will have a greater breadth of services.
