London-based Advent has concluded the first phase of its latest fundraising, raking in an initial £128 million for its latest fund, Advent Private Equity IV.

In total the group hopes to raise £200 million for the investment vehicle, which will follow Advent’s traditional model of backing both early- and late-stage ventures operating in the information technology, communication and life science sectors.

The focus of these investments will remain largely on the UK and Europe, with between £5 million and £15 million being invested at a time.
