New acquisition for consolidated training provider

Employability and Skills Group (ESG), a private equity-backed company which delivers adult training on behalf of the public sector, has added a fourth business to its stable.

The group has acquired Triangle Training, a Midlands-based childcare training provider, with funding from Sovereign Capital.

Andrea Lavelle, owner and MD of Triangle Training, says: ‘Having successfully integrated other learning and skills businesses, ESG gave us the confidence we sought in finding the right fit for Triangle Training.

‘We look forward to accessing ESG’s resources and scale to further develop our services to both learners and employers.’

Established in 1999, Triangle Training has 60 staff based in Birmingham, Northampton, Wolverhampton, Telford, Leicester and Nottingham.

ESG has a turnover of £25 million and 500 staff. In addition to the new acquisition, the group comprises Leicester-based Sencia, which aims to get long-term unemployed people back to work, Sheffield-based apprentice learning specialist STL, and Derbyshire-based national training provider Orient Gold.
