UK plc is predicted to be ‘big winners’ following the launch of 4G mobile services in Britain, exclusive UK 4G operator Everything Everywhere (EE) predicts.
A survey predicted by the provider shows that 86 per cent of US 4G-enabled businesses claim to be more productive while working remotely with 4G.
It says that business benefits have been felt in the US, Sweden, Japan and Germany after the network was made active in those countries.
EE has interviewed 14 4G-enabled businesses around the world and collated responses from 1,200 business decision makers.
On top of the 73 per cent of small businesses which plan to use 4G in the next year, 74 per cent of all businesses nationally intend to do the same.
Of US respondents, 76 per cent say 4G has helped to innovate and stay ahead of competition.
EE cites a German car manufacturer which is set to become the first to 4G-enable its cars when it releases a LTE Car Hotspot, a USB adaptor giving passengers access to ‘superfast’ internet as an example of an innovating company.
Martin Stiven, vice president of business at EE, comments, ‘4G is having a transformational effect on businesses across the world.’
The study was conducted by Joseph Place, in conjunction with EE. Arthur Little, from Joseph Place, adds, ‘We expect to see innovative 4G-specific products emerging, for instance in the mHealth arena.
‘We’re positive that UK businesses will begin to see such benefits as they roll out 4G during 2012 and beyond.’
