Telecoms software business Name Your Number has secured £1.35 million of equity investment as it prepares to launch in three new international markets.
The Northwest Interim Venture Capital Fund, which includes backing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and is managed by YFM Private Equity, joined Energize Capital and a number of private investors to back the Manchester-based business in the latest fundraising round. It is the second investment in Name Your Number from YFM after the firm first committed to the business in July 2008.
Name Your Number works with mobile telephone network operators such as O2 and T-Mobile to offer personalised telephone numbers to their customers based on their names, birthdays or other details. Managing director John Vernon comments that the equity will enable the business to expand into new markets and increase services offered to existing clients.
In addition to its European presence, the company already has a contract in Qatar and is in advanced negotiations with networks in Latin America, South America and Asia, according to a statement from YFM.
