In the year to September 2009, Data Sound recorded turnover of £2.3 million with a reported profit before tax of approximately £400,000. The company has been acquired on a cash free/debt free basis with net assets of approximately £100,000. No deferred consideration is payable after completion. Following the deal, Data Sound will be integrated within the MSS Group and it is expected that this will yield significant cost savings.

The majority of Data Sound’s sales are delivered on a contracted basis with contracts ranging between one and three years. The operational management team of Data Sound will be continuing with the business.

In its interim results for the year ending September 2009, MSS revealed that turnover was down by approximately 50 per cent to £7.8 million.
