The Founders Club, a venture capital ‘equity exchange’ fund, has secured a six-figure sum from investors including outspoken private equity boss Jon Moulton.

In addition to Moulton, who is CEO of AIM-listed Better Capital, the angel investment round brought in undisclosed investments from erstwhile chair of the British Venture Capital Association Edmund Truell and former BlackBerry and Vodafone executive Chris Burke.

Andrew Romans, founder and general partner of The Founders Club, says ‘small contributions from big players’ had helped close the round, which will fund the management company that runs the club.

The club itself is open to venture-backed entrepreneurs who agree to share a portion of the cash proceeds of their exits with other members when they sell their companies.

It is currently accepting new members in the life sciences, healthcare, IT and cleantech sectors.
