eCommera, a provider of online services to the retail industry, has secured £1.3 million from private equity group ePlanet.

The funding, which takes total investment raised by eCommera to more than £6 million, will go towards the geographic expansion of the UK-based company, initially into continental Europe.

Andrew McGregor, CEO and co-founder of eCommera, says the company’s software saves retailers from the distraction of managing e-commerce technology, adding, ‘Just as retailers do not tend to own and build their own high street stores, so we believe the same model will emerge online.’

eCommera, which serves more than 20 retailers, raised £5 million two months ago from an investment group led by growth capital investor Frog Capital in conjunction with West Coast Capital and GP Bullhound.
