Online commerce group E-Trader has secured further funding and appointed a former director of Lastminute.com to its board.

The company’s existing backer MMC Ventures has invested an undisclosed sum in the company, while John Morris, who was chief operating officer at online ticket exchange Viagogo following his board role at Lastminute.com, has joined E-Trader as chief operating officer.

E-Trader operates Stockshifters.com, a trade marketplace for clearance stock and returns, and Koodos.com, a ‘private sales club’ offering consumers high-end fashion for discounted prices.

Rory Stirling, investment manager at MMC, says, ‘The further funding will be used to capitalise on E-Trader’s first mover position in the UK business-to-business trade marketplace and allow it to continue scaling its technology and infrastructure to meet the needs of its customers and vendors.’
