Miller concludes Abermed operation

The increasingly buoyant healthcare sector has seen further buyout action in recent days, with medical and occupational health services venture Abermed Industrial Doctors the latest business to change hands.

Following its £7.25 million Northern Venture Managers-backed management buyout, Abermed will look to diversify. Historically, the company has specialised in providing medical services to operators of North Sea oil and gas facilities. Now, however, managing director James Miller suggests that the business will look to ‘provide complementary services’ within the occupational health sector.

Geographic expansion is also on the agenda with Abermed seeking to add to its operations in Aberdeen, Inverness, Teeside and East Anglia.
