MIG buys Piri

Mobile Interactive Group has acquired the marketing and software provider Piri.

Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) has acquired the mobile marketing and CRM software provider Piri.

The acquisition, which was for an undisclosed sum, gives MIG a presence in the north of England.

Manchester-based Piri was launched in 2006 and produces software that allows clients to conduct marketing via SMS messaging to clients. Its current customers include Future Publishing and Camelot.

MIG is based in London but has offices in North America and Sydney; it provides services including mobile advertising, marketing, billing and messaging. The company intends to incorporate Piri’s software platforms into its existing mobile and digital communications technology. Its current clients include ITV and Vodaphone.

Barry Houlihan, CEO and founder MIG, says that they intend to take full advantage of Piri’s location in Manchester: ‘We have worked with Piri for several years, providing mobile billing services to their clients [so] the Piri technology is already fully integrated with all MIG platforms and immediately available to our existing customers, as well as international customers and partners.’

Lee Bowden, director at Piri says: ‘The deal represents a huge opportunity to launch Piri’s technology globally and offers tremendous career opportunities to our staff in an industry that has excelled through a tough economic climate.’
