Angel investor syndicate ideaSpace and start-up support organisation NESTA are backing a 13-week mentoring programme for early-stage businesses.

Springboard, which runs from April to July next year, offers support and networking opportunities, as well as up to £15,000 of investment capital.

Neil McClements, managing partner at Fintech Ventures Fund and a mentor on the programme, says, ‘Many start-ups lack an experienced management team and can’t afford to pay for advice on a range of issues such as product development, market penetration and customer traction.

‘Springboard is a one-stop shop where mentors with business experience and strong networks will support entrepreneurs to advance their businesses.’

Mentors enlisted on the programme include Alex van Someren from Amadeus Capital Partners and Colin Willis, managing director of Hotspur Capital Partners.

Entrepreneurs have until 13 February to compete for one of 10 places on the programme.
