UK healthcare property investment fund MedicX Healthfund has acquired the freehold interests of two purpose built care homes in Coupar Angus and Dundee and a third in Bangor, Northern Ireland.

The first two properties have been let to the Scotland’s largest privately owned provider of care homes, the Balhousie Care Group, while the third has been rented to Maria Mallaband Care Group, representing a combined investment of more than £12 million for the three properties.

These acquisitions are the first of three to be announced since the Healthfund closed on a second fund raising at the end of September 2011, when a further £55 million was secured from a number of the Healthfund’s existing investors as well as attracting the involvement of Schroders.
