A medical gas supplier has received a second round of funding from regional investor Finance Wales.

Finance Wales invested £1 million in Medical Gas Solutions (MGS), which supplies oxygen and analgesic gases to the NHS and ambulance trusts.

The investor has also introduced MGS to Alan Jones, its new chairman, who has experience in the logistics sector.

Steve Gullit, chief executive of MGS, says the company has grown over the past six years by adding the NHS and several of the emergency services to its client list. Originally, it served the diving sector and a limited number of the emergency services.

Jerry Mobbs, deputy portfolio manager at Finance Wales, says, ‘[This] latest investment in MGS will enable the company to grow as it looks to diversify into niche sectors such as the aerospace and nuclear sectors.’

The deal follows an earlier £1.5 million equity and debt investment by Finance Wales.
