McKinnon & Clarke powers up in UCA deal

Dunfermline-based energy consultants McKinnon & Clarke has acquired Kent-based rival Utility Cost Analysis (UCA) for an undisclosed sum.

Dunfermline-based energy consultants McKinnon & Clarke has acquired Kent-based rival Utility Cost Analysis (UCA) for an undisclosed sum.  

UCA specialises in reducing the cost of electricity, gas and water for industrial, commercial and public sector organisations in the UK, and reported revenues of £5 million in 2008. The purchase will secure employment for UCA’s 10 staff, who will be deployed in McKinnon & Clarke’s three regional UK offices.

McKinnon & Clarke employs over 300 staff and has offices across Europe, Asia and the US.

Simon Northrop, chairman of McKinnon & Clarke, said: “What we add to UCA is scale as we are one of the largest purchasers of energy in the UK and our purchasing power undoubtedly delivers bigger savings for clients.”
