MBL Group acquires GMV

MBL Group, a distributor of home entertainment products, has agreed to acquire Global Media Vault (GMV) for up to £839,030.

MBL Group, a distributor of home entertainment products, has agreed to acquire Global Media Vault (GMV) for up to £839,030.

Lancashire-based MBL distributes CDs, DVDs and computer games to retailers across the UK, while GMV provides website and mobile phone retail platforms for its catalogue of digital entertainment content.

Trevor Allan, CEO of MBL, said: ‘We are delighted to have entered the digital arena. We are committed to offering our customers a one-stop entertainment distribution solution and this is a major step towards that goal.’

In the year ending March, MBL reported an increase in revenue of 77 per cent to £143.6 million, while pre-tax profits were up 42 per cent to £8.1 million.
