Delphic Diagnostics provides drug monitoring and laboratory services to the pharmaceutical industry, and has particular expertise in HIV and hepatitis. The company has laboratories in Liverpool and in Kent.
Maddy Kennedy, CFO of Lab21, said: ‘[The] purchase of the Delphic business and assets is expected to contribute substantial sales in 2010 and to be accretive to Lab21’s earnings from early next year. It also adds significant management and clinical expertise to [the business].’
The deal comes after Cambridge-based Lab21 acquired diagnostic companies Plasmatec Laboratory Products and Biotec Laboratories earlier in the year.
