Kaboose, North America’s largest independent family-focused online media firm, has bought parenting club Bounty for £70 million.

The target company was bought from private equity firm ECI Partners that funded the MBO of Bounty in December 2004. Under ECI’s ownership the company expanded its client base and product offering to become the UK’s largest parenting and online community for new and expectant mothers.

Bounty currently has more than 2.4 million members and 50,000 new joiners every month, in 2006 Bounty generated EBITBA of £3.5 million on revenues of £19.8 million. The company reaches some 95 per cent of the estimated 750,000 annual births in the UK through online media and direct marketing, a professional health network, product sampling, podcasting, photography and parenting guides.
