Juliet Davenport is PLUS CEO of the Year

New energy entrepreneur Juliet Davenport walked off with the CEO of the Year gong at the PLUS Awards last night.

As chief executive of Good Energy Group, Davenport has led the company to improved financial performance, with revenues up 10 per cent to £20 million in its latest reported results, and profits 7 per cent higher at £725,000. The company trades and invests in renewable energy, capitalising on the UK’s efforts to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.

Good Energy Group also won the award for PLUS Investor Communication.

Other winners at the awards included Sprue Aegis, which picked up the prize for Company of the Year. The Coventry-based business sells home safety products, such as smoke alarms, and saw its share price rise 60 per cent in 2011.

Cyril Theret, chief executive of PLUS Markets Group, says it has been ‘another challenging year’ for companies quoted on the market, but added, ‘The winners are testament to the continuing opportunities that can be unlocked by small and medium-sized companies in the capital markets, and the growth that can be generated as a result.’

PLUS advisers were also garlanded at the event, including St Helens Capital Partners as Corporate Adviser of the Year, Marriott Harrison as Legal Adviser of the Year and Jeffreys Henry as Reporting Accountant.
