JG Ross completes Jack Cooper deal

JG Ross has acquired Jack Cooper to create a combined bakery with turnover of some £9 million.

Solicitor James & George Collie’s corporate and commercial department provided legal advice to the Aberdeen-based acquirers. A spokesperson from the law firm said: “The acquisition demonstrates the ambition and forward thinking of JG Ross management and we are delighted to have played a pivotal role in the acquisition from initial discussions through to completion.”

JG Ross director Graeme Ross said: “We see this acquisition as an excellent strategic opportunity to develop our product range and customer base.

”Cooper’s is a long established craft bakery with signature products such as sunflower bread and thin butter biscuits.”

The target firm’s 20 full-time staff have been added to JG Ross’ workforce, which is now more than 400.
