Pinewood Shepperton, the studios behind the new James Bond film Skyfall, has outlined plans to move to the AIM market.

The studios’ move comes a week after the Isle of Man government acquired a 19.9 per cent stake in the company for £24 million, and will now mean it can operate in a less regulated environment.

As part of the move to AIM Pinewood Shepperton will also look to raise £5.4 million by way of the placing of 2,160,000 new shares.

Under the plans formalised at a general meeting, Pinewood expects its last day on the Main Market to be 20 July 2012, after which its first day on AIM will be 23 July.

Pinewood Shepperton is controlled by Peel Group, a business which first took over in July 2011.

According to a statement Pinewood, Shepperton and Teddington Studios together accommodate 34 stages, five dedicated digital television studios and five digital presentation studios. It has been part of 1,500 films over 75 years.
