Isai leads Series A investment in

Isai has led a £1.5 million funding round in online fashion accessories retailer, marking the angel fund’s first investment outside France.

The website was founded by Kiyan Foroughi and Avid Larizadeh, and launched in October 2010.

The company will use the Series A investment to accelerate its international growth by expanding its marketing efforts and bringing new talent on board.

As part of the deal, Jean-David Chamboredon, CEO of Isai, joins the board of directors, alongside Olivier Mathiot, co-founder of e-commerce marketplace Priceminister, and industry veteran John Ayton, who has 20 years of experience in jewellery retail.

Chamboredon says, ‘ is Isai’s first investment outside of France and fits perfectly with our investment mandate. The market opportunity is huge, current momentum is impressive, and we’re very familiar with the business model.’

‘ offers emerging designers the opportunity to engage with a global audience and has the power to unlock great potential in a very fragmented marketplace,’ adds Ayton.

Isai is made up of 70 internet entrepreneurs including prominent Silicon Valley investors, led by Bobby Yazdani, founder and CEO of Saba and an early investor in Google.
