London-based Rights Tracker has secured investment to further develop and commercialise its intellectual property (IP) management software.

The amount of the funding is not disclosed. It comes from The Capital Fund, the regional venture capital fund for London, and the Creative Capital Fund, which backs creative industries in the city, as well as private individuals.

Rights Tracker’s initial focus is on the television sector. Its web-based software aims to help rights owners maximise licence revenue and reduce the administrative burden of managing company assets.

CEO Ross Bentley comments, ‘With the proliferation of broadcast platforms, revenues from advertising have become spread more thinly. Efficiency in licensing content has consequently become critical for all IP owners.’

Benjamin Davis, investment manager at The Capital Fund, says Rights Tracker’s product can be applied to many sectors beyond the broadcast industry.
