Index Ventures leads $35 million round for Outbrain

Content discovery platform Outbrain has announced funding of $35 million (£22.5 million) led by Index Ventures which brings its total funding to $64 million (£41.2 million).

The funding round led by Index Ventures also had contributions from existing investors Carmel Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Outbrain’s service helps online publishers recommend additional content to their site’s readers.

The funding brings Outbrain’s total financing to $64 million. The company has announced that Index Ventures partner Dominique Vidal, previously CEO of Yahoo! Europe, will join Outbrain’s board of directors.
