Lawnmower manufacturer Hayter has strengthened its offering after buying the Allen Hover Mower business for an undisclosed sum.

The company was sold by family firm APEL Holdings in a deal that ends its 140 year association with the business.

APEL’s lead adviser was Fanshawe Lofts, led by partner and corporate finance specialist Rosemary Penn-Newman.

Penn-Newman said the deal works both for Hayter and APEL. “Hayter obtains a product and brand that is the market leader in its niche which strengthens its product line. Meanwhile, APEL is a step closer to fulfilling its divestment strategy. It has proved to be an exciting and worthwhile transaction to facilitate.”
